I live in Leamington Spa, with my husband Mike, and twin 9 year old girls Merryn & Issey who attend school in Kenilworth.
I am a fully qualified Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development with over 25 years HR experience up to and including HR Director level.
The industries I have worked in include hospitality, retail, financial services, education (private & state), estate agency and chartered surveyors. I have also held roles that were responsible across multiple countries and involved extensive travel.
I left the corporate world to start KClear HR to enable me to spend more time with and supporting my family with their own interests, whilst channelling my energy, skills and experience to help businesses support and develop their people to enable them to grow and thrive.
I strongly believe that everyone can be treated with dignity and respect even if they are not performing. Companies and people change over time and your ‘why’ or values may become misaligned over time so they move from being the right person to being the wrong person. How you deal with that person will determine how they talk about your company in the future.
As an example, I have been involved in many redundancy programs during my career, and dealt with one particular large project where the work was being outsourced to an Indian company. Many of the employees had worked for the company for over 10 years and promotion had been based on service rather than ability. At the end of the program redundant employees bought me gifts (including an iPod for my runs) to say ‘thank you’ for how I had dealt with the situation. To me as I was just doing my job, but to them it meant a huge deal.
